Aluminum Die Casting Pivot Housing, our factory have a couple of 280T Die Casting machines, the size and the weight of this part is very suitable for the machines. This part is a pivot housing for DC motor on wiper system, the difficulty of this part is the structure of the long threaded pillar, the length is more than 65 mm, as the base of the pivot housing is big and thick, so the injection gate should be located on the base, then it means the top of the pillar will be the end on the mold, which will cause problem of incomplete filling, even defect of short casting. What's more, the part require surface finish of electrophoresis coating, for technology of e-coating, also a process of curing at high temperature of 170-200 degree. In this case, such issues of misrun, inadequate filling will cause internal porosity, then under this high thermal heating, the air will get out from the parts, leading to pits and bubbles on the surface of the castings. so to avoid this problem the long pillar is set to be the key characteristic, the mold design with mold flow analysis is very important and necessary prior to the establishment of mold. Of course, to ensure the design of the ejector pins, the parting line, the pouring gate won't cause any interference problem on practical application of the part, we will provide the design CAD to the customer to ask for an approval.
The material of the part is ADC-12, a Japanese aluminum type. The material should conform to standard of JIS H 5302-2000, a very common material in high pressure die casting. The material is equivalent to Chinese aluminum alloy YL113, the corresponding standard is GB/T 15115-2009. And the material is also equal to A383, the criterion is ASTM B85-03 Standard Specification for Aluminum-Alloy Die Castings
ADC-12 is Al-Si-Cu serial alloy, the composition of ADC-12 is:(Cu)1.5~3.5, (Si)9.6~12.0, (Mg)≤0.3, (Zn)≤1.0, (Fe)≤1.3, (Mn)≤0.5, (Ni)≤0.5, (Sn)≤0.3, (Pb) ≤0.1, (Cd) ≤0.005, (Al) the remaining.
